Santorini Ferry Port Terminal
Athinios Port features an indoor waiting area equipped with some basic amenities, such as restrooms, an ATM, and a snack bar. While it can’t be described as a proper terminal at Santorini Port, the air-conditioned facility becomes extremely handy during the hot summer days, when waiting outside under the sun can be quite tedious due to high temperatures.
Athinios Port Parking Options
Santorini Ferry Port is small, providing its passengers with just the necessary services and amenities. Thus, it houses just one parking facility. The Santorini port parking lot has limited capacity and isn’t organized. In general terms, it is almost impossible to find an available parking spot when the port is congested. On the other hand, parking doesn’t come with a fee, meaning that travelers can park their vehicles at the port’s car park for free.
What to Do in Santorini Port
Santorini Thira Port doesn’t offer a wide variety of services. Indeed, there aren’t many things to do in Santorini Port while waiting for the ferry. Still, Athinios Port features some dining facilities, coffee shops, and mini markets selling souvenirs and local products as well. On the other hand, wineries can be found near the port, making it the ideal option for travelers who enjoy wine-tasting experiences. Last but not least, time permitting, passengers can visit one of Santorini’s scenic villages (Fira, Oia, Imerovigli, Pyrgos Kallistis, etc.), all located within a 10-40-minute distance from the port.
