The Rome Port Parking Facilities
The car parks lying inside the Port of Civitavecchia are managed by Port Mobility. Two car parks are to be found inside the port complex, catering to the parking needs of ferry and cruise passengers. Thus, the Nord Parking Lot is the facility handling the parking needs of most cruise and ferry travelers. On the other hand, the Cruise Parking Lot can only be used by MSC passengers. Located close to Dock 25, the Cruise Car Park features 303 parking spots. However, as already mentioned, it is designated for MSC customers.
Ordinary port shuttles run -free of charge- from both car parks, linking them to the terminal buildings and the departure and arrival docks.
The Nord Port Parking at Civitavecchia
The Nord Port Parking at Civitavecchia serves both the long-term and short-stay parking needs of ferry and cruise passengers (except for MSC passengers). Thus, regardless of the duration of your stay (for a few minutes, hours, or even days), you should head to the open-air Nord Parking Lot to leave your vehicle. Apart from cars, the parking facility can also accommodate buses and heavy vehicles. Car drivers can easily access it via the Varco Vespucci Gate. The car park has 42 parking spaces for cars. Out of them, two are designated for travelers with disabilities. It is open around the clock. Hence, no matter the day or the time you arrive at the Port of Rome, you should be able to park your vehicle easily and stress-free at the port’s parking lot.
Our Tip: Several private parking lots are located outside the port, within a short distance of its entrances. While they may offer tempting deals, they are less convenient compared to the Port Parking Lot at Civitavecchia. Indeed, they lie further from the port’s gates and aren’t served by the free port shuttle.
